Sustainability is in the Details - Wood

Environmental Stewardship Means the World to us.

Reducing the use of energy and utilizing materials that give back to the earth helps us stay focused on creating products that compliment and honour the natural world.

Timber and Recycled Lumber

At Green Theory, our wood selection is based on both durability and sustainability. We carefully select ethically sourced, energy-efficient materials that perform over time. This includes thermally modified Ash and Hemlock and Recycled Plastic high-performance lumber, supplied by trusted partners who share our focus on quality and environmental responsibility. Every choice we make, from material sourcing to finishing, is designed to reduce environmental impact and deliver products that stand the test of time.

Wood

While tropical hardwoods are common in our industry, we prefer a thermally modified white ash, harvested in North America from growth forests created for that very purpose. Our wood is treated through a carefully controlled, chemical-free process using high heat and steam to enhance the wood’s stability and durability. It’s resistant to fungi, mold, and insects. No overseas shipping for processing is required. We offer thermally modified wood in Ash and Hemlock, finished with Cutek oil to improve durability and enhance natural appearance.

FSC® certified.

  • Smooth, splinter-free, resin-free and lighter weight
  • 33% harder/denser than untreated wood
  • Stable, durable, and rot-resistant
  • Non-expanding or contracting
