Moody Yards: Furnishings for a Connected Community

Tucked into the heart of Port Moody, one of Metro Vancouver's fastest-growing communities, Moody Yards reflects the character of a city that continues to evolve. Known for its waterfront trails, Brewers Row, independent cafés, bakeries, and boutique shops along Murray Street, Port Moody has become a destination for young professionals and families seeking a balance between urban convenience and outdoor living.

Planned, constructed, marketed and sold by Mosaic Homes and designed by MGA - Michael Green Architecture, Moody Yards was envisioned as a community rooted in connection – to nature, to neighbours, and to place. Recognized internationally for their leadership in sustainable timber architecture, MGA created a design concept that blends natural materials, thoughtful design, and contemporary aesthetics. The result is a warm, inviting environment that feels deeply connected to the culture of Port Moody itself.

With more than 36,000 square feet of outdoor amenity space available to residents, the landscape was designed to encourage gathering, recreation, and everyday moments outdoors. Green Theory site furnishings were selected to help bring these spaces to life, providing durable and welcoming places to sit, socialize, and play.

"MY Backyard is exactly what its name suggests: over 36,000 square feet of outdoor living space that truly belongs to the people who call Moody Yards home. We needed furnishings that could work as hard as the programming itself, from harvest tables where neighbours gather for a shared picnic and lounge seating perfect for an afternoon with a good book, to ping-pong tables that have a way of turning a quiet evening into games night with friends, not to mention the fitness zone, bocce lawn, play area and veggie garden."

"We knew Green Theory was the right fit from the start. The range of designs, the warmth of the wood, and the ability to customize colours and shapes meant everything we chose felt like it belonged."

– Geoff Duyker, Senior Vice President (Mosaic)

Spaces Designed for Gathering

Imagined by landscape architects Vdz+A, a collection of Cruiser Tables and Cruiser Backless Benches creates an informal picnic-style gathering area. Robust and generously sized, these furnishings support everything from casual lunches to evening get-togethers. With a second cluster positioned near the outdoor cooking amenities and shared vegetable garden, the space invites residents to come together, share meals, and enjoy the community atmosphere.

Nearby, a pair of hardwood timber and aluminum custom Lounge Chairs provide a more relaxed retreat beneath the pergola. Finished in a soft retro-inspired sage powder coat, the seating complements the development's natural material palette while offering a comfortable place to unwind and enjoy the surrounding landscape.

At the Centre of Community Life

At the heart of the outdoor amenity space sit two Dek Platform Benches, creating a comfortable observation point within the courtyard. Their double-sided design encourages flexible use, whether residents are taking a break, meeting with neighbours, or simply enjoying the activity around them. Framed by Tower Trough Planters, the bench helps define the central gathering space while contributing to the landscape's layered, natural aesthetic.

Playful Design with Lasting Durability

Serving as a focal point within the courtyard, the Flight Tennis Table brings recreation and social interaction into the everyday resident experience. Constructed entirely from aluminum, Flight combines durability with a distinctive design language inspired by aerodynamic forms. Its subtle retro character complements the architectural aesthetic while providing a highly durable, low-maintenance amenity designed to withstand years of use.

More than simply a recreational feature, the tennis table creates opportunities for spontaneous interaction and friendly competition, helping foster the sense of community that defines the development.

Furnishings That Support Everyday Living

Thoughtfully designed outdoor spaces play an important role in shaping how people experience a community. At Moody Yards, Green Theory furnishings help transform amenity areas into places where residents can gather, relax, play, and connect. By combining durable materials with timeless design and sustainable practices, these furnishings support the development's vision of creating meaningful outdoor experiences that strengthen community life.
