FEATURED: DECEMBER 2020
Jordan Cheng
Meet Jordan. Director of Engineering + IT.
He’s one of our specialists and a 4.5 year team member. Jordan keeps the lines of communication between the estimators, design team and engineers moving and works diligently to ensure projects are designed to optimal efficiency and standards.
In addition to manufacturing orders, Jordan is immersed with the design team in the technical aspects of our new Collect series and his manufacturing and design acumen lends itself perfectly to the process.
"I love having a wide variety of things to do and working with different kinds of people. Each day is never the same so it never gets boring!”

As the director of engineering and IT, Jordan’s job is pretty broad. He drafts project/customer drawings for a vast range and size of projects. He helps the design team with renderings and best ways to manufacture new offerings. He manages the engineering team and guides them through the huge number and wide range of jobs that come to Green Theory and challenges them to find ways to fabricate products in different ways. Aside from the manufacturing side, Jordan also manages and programs the internal sales configurator which is used by the estimating team to instantly generate prices and drawings for our custom metal planters, seating and trellis lines.

Jordan’s favourite project that he worked on was the 7200 Wisconsin. This project required months of work just on drawings alone with tons of meetings and manufacturing challenges to consider along the way. Fabricating out of .250 aluminum added another challenge to a huge project that was mainly edging with incorporated seating.

Jordan is Vancouver born and raised. Before joining the team, Jordan attended BCIT where he studied web development and design and interned with a new tech company. Luckily for Green Theory, one of Jordan’s family members worked nearby and heard about the position when it opened up and the rest is history. Outside of Green Theory, Jordan likes to work out, stay on top of all the latest video games or head out on his bike. Rumour has it he’ll be getting his own Green Theory bike kit shortly. Pics will definitely follow!
